NOTICE OF REASSESSMENT
TOWN OF MAZOMANIE DANE COUNTY
A revaluation of property within the Town of Mazomanie is scheduled to be for the 2022 assessment year to meet compliance with the Department of Revenue. Equity Appraisal will be conduction the Revaluation. The project is estimated to begin in April 2022 and completed in the June 2022. All personal and real estate property will be reviewed (NO INTERIOR INSPECTIONS) and brought to market value (Revaluation). Notice of assessment change will be mailed.
Occasionally, the assessor or his/her representative may need to enter into land to update information to establish a fair tax assessment value for each property. No entry into a building or dwelling will ever be made without consent. However, entry onto lands, including lands around buildings is assumed, unless written notice is provided to the assessor. If an assessor is not allowed access for viewing property, an owner cannot contest the level of assessment set by the assessor. Sec. 70.47(7)(aa) of WI Stats.
After the assessor completes the assessment roll, the tax roll is available for examination. This is an opportunity for taxpayers to discuss their assessment in an informal setting with the assessor. Your assessment MAY be changed at this meeting.

If you are still unhappy with your assessment, you may appeal to this board which is comprised of local officials. Watch the local newspaper for notice of both open book and board of review or call the clerk for more information.
Board of Review is Not yet Scheduled
Board of Review is scheduled for May 9th at 6:15pm (before the monthly Board meeting). Board of Review will open and then close to re-convene at a later date after the reassessment if finished. Open Book and the actually Board of Review will be scheduled for later this fall.
